A record 59 Stanford students and alumni athletes competed in the Olympic Games Paris 2024. Stanford Economics was represented by three Olympians and produced one medal: Ben Hallock '20 (USA Men's Water Polo, bronze medal) Alberto Mestre '21
Advanced Lecturers Christopher Makler received the 2024 Economics Distinguished Faculty Teaching Award, and Scott McKeon received the 2023-2024 Dean's Award for Distinguished Teaching Award.
