Graduating senior Jeremy Majerovitz was awarded the 2015 Firestone medal, and Kennedy Thesis Prize.  Jeremy won the awards based on his senior thesis "Does Ethnic Fractionalization Matter for Development?".  He was advised by Pascaline Dupas, associate professor of economics.

The 2014-15 Department of Economics Award for Excellence in Teaching was bestowed upon John Taylor at the department commencement ceremony in June.  John was selected as this year's winner based on student nominations.

John Geanakoplos, the James Tobin Professor of Economics at Yale University, will be the featured speaker for the upcoming 22nd Annual Department of Economics' Arrow Lectures. Lectures are free and open to all and will be held at the Stanford Graduate School of Business.
