Fed Challenge

The Stanford Fed Challenge team competes annually in the College Fed Challenge, where teams present a monetary policy recommendation and participate in a Q&A by Federal Reserve economists. Team members are recruited by application, typically during Spring quarter.

2025-26 competition team: Araha Uday, Rohan Karunaratne, Jaxon Gonzales, Amy Cao, Keshav Sriram, Kevin Reso

Advisor: Mark Tendall and Adrien Auclert

Jaxon Gonzales

Captain

Jaxon is a rising senior from Austin, Texas studying economics. He joined Fed Challenge in 2024 and is excited to help lead the team in 2025. On campus, he’s worked on projects with Cardinal Policy Group, is a part of Stanford Consulting, and does research with awesome professors in the econ department. In his free time, he loves writing songs and playing them with his band on campus (shoutout Bucket List) as well as eating good food (and lots of it).

Rohan Karunaratne

Captain

Rohan is a senior studying Electrical Engineering. He enjoys learning about the Fed's role in debt markets and the housing market. Rohan is excited to be a part of this year's Fed Challenge team to collaborate with other students on addressing monetary policy in a changing world. In his free time, he likes to try new food, work on hardware projects, and DJ.

Araha Uday

President, Captain

Araha is a senior studying economics and math. On campus, she is involved in the Stanford Economic Review, Club Golf, and she volunteers with a domestic violence shelter. She enjoys films and coffee! Araha loves that Fed Challenge puts you in the shoes of a policymaker, researcher, and competitor all at the same time.
